Cleanse gently

Use a gentle cleanser up to twice a day and after heavy sweating. Apply it with your fingertips, without scrubbing, then pat dry. Frequent washing and vigorous rubbing can irritate skin.

Keep products simple

Look for products labelled non-comedogenic. If your skin is dry, choose a moisturizer suitable for acne-prone skin. Remove makeup before bed and avoid sharing makeup with others.

Protect your skin and allow treatment time

Outdoors, use a non-comedogenic, broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher, together with shade or protective clothing. Follow treatment instructions and avoid frequently switching several products, which may add irritation.

Avoid picking and squeezing

Picking and squeezing may increase inflammation and the risk of marks or scars. If treatment causes stinging, peeling or discomfort, ask your doctor or pharmacist about application. Read about skin picking and acne.
